La Jolla Cove is a favorite destination for strolling and the beach, with an underwater preserve and lots of sea life, it’s the perfect place to see your first sea lion or learn to snorkel. Swimmers and divers will love the underwater scene in this area, and kayaking is a favorite activity from the La Jolla shoreline to the caves of La Jolla Cove.
The beach is protected from the surf by a rocky outcrop that provides the perfect park setting to enjoy the sun and the shoreline.
Many of the native birds nesting on the cliffs have literally created quite a stink- often times, too close to the cliff edge the allure of the view of the wildlife and the coastal scene is offset by a powerful odor from the bird droppings.
